Geepas, the popular flagship brand of Western International Group, with a significant presence in the electronics business across the globe, has achieved yet another milestone by getting the coveted Trust Mark certification from Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC), which was established in 2009 to raise the quality of the emirate's exports and locally traded products, while protecting the interest of consumers and supporting the UAE's competitive economy. The first product of Geepas to get certified is its top selling rechargeable fan (Model No GF 927), which makes it reliable to the highest levels of health and safety standards.

QCC is an Abu Dhabi government entity with a mandate to ensure provision of quality infrastructure in line with global standards, and to support regulators and government organizations as well as the industry and the private sector through offering quality and conformity facilities, expertise and resources, to promote a culture of quality towards consumers."In our role as the quality custodians in Abu Dhabi, we work closely with regulators and industry leaders to enable manufacturers and suppliers to get the opportunity to see certification of their products under the Abu Dhabi Trustmark. The certification ensures that these products are embedded with features that enable them to meet the minimum safety requirements as well as ensuring that the production of the product is controlled, said Mr. Abdulla Abdulla Al Khoori, the Acting Executive Director of Consumer and Market Services. He added certified products go under continuous market surveillance activities which include the smart sampling of products to ensure continuity of compliance.

The effulgent achievement sets a benchmark for Geepas to further elevate its reach towards consumers and retailers assuring that the scales used for buying and selling have been tested and meet UAE and international measurement standards. The Group Service Head, Mr. Sutheesh Kumar, applauded and congratulated the entire team for the notable feat saying that, 'We have been on a path to improve our quality standards by implementing best practices in QA at manufacturing level.
